Gimas Girgin INC. | 6 Axis Post Processor
PROBLEM
You are probably using a standard 5-axis post processor for your 6-axis CNC machine and you don’t know how to use the 3rd rotary axes with it.
How will you use the 3rd rotary axis? I guess you already asked that question to the person who prepared the post processor for you..
Most probably he/she adviced you to use another 5 axis post processor that will utilize the 3rd rotary axis. The bad thing about this advice is, that you will not use one of the other two rotary axes, since they offer you again a 5 axis post processor, not a 6 axis post processor.
Even you use 2 or 3 different 5-axis post processors, you can only control 2 of the 3 rotary axes at the same time. Therefore, using multiple number of 5 axis post processors is not the real solution to your problem.
What you need is a 6 axis post processor.
SOLUTION
6 axis CNC post processing technology of MANUSpost, uses 3 rotary axes effectively.
In cases where positioning is not possible with just 2 axes, the post processor automatically activates all 3 axes and finds the most effective 3rd rotary axis orientation automatically..
When we say most effective, we are referring the special algorithm of MANUSpost for 6 axis post processing:
- Users can automatically operate NC programs in a specific area of the machine working zone. This area is determined by the users in post processor.
- After that, 3 rotary axes are automatically calculated for machining in this desired zone.
- As an alternative solution, the operations can also be operated at the user determined 3rd rotary axis. The other two rotary axes are calculated accordingly.
Moreover, MANUSpost also supports machines with head change. The user can manage multiple heads with a single post.
BENEFITS
“We have been programming our 6 axis machines with MANUSpost post processor for about 3 years. We can easily control all rotary axes at the same time without making any complicated adjustments in the CAM program.
As Gimas Girgin, since the parts we produce in our CNC machines are extremely complex, it is very important for us to use a powerful and safe 6 axis post processor, otherwise we will lose a lot of time in the manufacturing process.”
